Parks Sub-Department Freelancers’ Wage Finally Paid Off

Freelancers serving under Central Jakarta Parks Sub-Department have finally received their wage that was previously unpaid for the last five months. The wage amounting Rp 80-90 thousand per day was paid off on Tuesday (6/18).

The delay also happened because the 2014 City Budget (APBD) hasn’t been disbursed by the Financial Management Body (BPKD) in January

Head of Central Jakarta Parks Sub-Department, Jansen Saragih, acknowledged about the delay in payment of freelancers’ wage in his unit. According to him, the problem happened in Cempaka Putih Sub-District. But, he has instructed Head of Cempaka Putih Sub-District Parks Section to immediately pay off the freelancers’ wage.

“We have paid the freelancers’ wage to sub-district. Probably there was a problem there, but we don’t know for sure. The delay also happened because the 2014 City Budget (APBD) hasn’t been disbursed by the Financial Management Body (BPKD) in January,” he stated, Wednesday (6/19).

RT/RW Chiefs’ Status to Be Changed into Freelancers

Previously, several Central Jakarta Parks Sub-Department freelancers admitted that their wage amounted Rp 1.5-1.8 million per month has not been paid off since January.

“We have yet to receive our wage from January until June. It makes me difficult to meet daily needs and pay my children’s school fees. I hope (non-active) Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo and Vice Governor Basuki T Purnama to help disbursing our wage,” uttered one of the freelancers.
